Mission and Goals

Supporting and Promoting the Sanctuary

The primary mission of the Friends is to promote awareness and appreciation of the unique ecological, scenic and conservational aspects of the Sanctuary, so that they wili be adequately supported, appropriately used and perpetually protected.

We encourage people to visit the Park by sponsoring free programs and sharing our Newsletter, Goosefeathers Gazette.

We work in tandem with Park manager, Charlie Cannon, to promote and maintain the Park, keeping it accessible to the public, but preserving the vision of Anita Harris.

Our priorities for the use of the funds we raise changes with every season based on what is most needed. We have dream projects and we have “must dos” to support the Sanctuary.

Our intern program and the educational and cultural events in the Park are always top priorities for the Friends. Both serve to draw visitors from near and far.
