Musical Fridays

Hymn for Her

Friday June 12 th 6:00 PM

Lucy Tight and Wayne Waxing are a duo known for their raw, road-tested performances that move easily between ruckus outlaw energy and stripped-down country folk, their sounds will shake your bones and soothe your soul.

Halzeek

Friday June 26 th 6:00 PM

Belfast’s own band will bring you an experimental musical adventure that will electrify the forest and send you dancing on the lawn. Their genius ties in rhythms and beats and make you wonder what might be coming next.

Stillwater

Friday July 17 th 6:00 PM

This bluegrass quintet was formed in Old Town with members from Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts and Texas. They play jam

bluegrass, Irish jigs and reels, American folk standards preserving authentic sounds while pushing creative bounds.

The World Famous Grassholes

Friday July 31 st 6:00 PM

Expect high-energy bluegrass, a mix of original compositions and, cool covers. You will be dancing and tapping your feet, this must be shared with friends and family. Everybody sings a bit and they hope you will sing along when you feel like it.

Intertidal Ecosystems

Join Kelly Lundt and Judy Walker, for a hands-on activities that explore various intertidal ecosystems and tides.

The Wonderful World of Beavers

Thursday July 16th 10:00 AM

Ann Brayton and Judy Walker will guide you on a two-hour walk around the Fresh Pond Trail. You will learn about the history, habits, and contributions of nature’s most brilliant ecosystem engineers in shaping our world.

Using Your Phone!

Thursday July 30 th 10:00 AM

Autumn Benni will guide you along the Back Shore Trail teaching you how to use Seek and INaturalist to identify seasonal flora. Bring your phones and your enthusiasm!

Lichens

Thursday August 6 th 10:00 AM

Join Grace Bartlett, for a guided two-hour walk on the Ice Works Trail searching for and learning about the often-overlooked organisms known as lichens.

Fabulous Ferns

Thursday August 20 th 10:00 AM

Join Judy Walker for a two-hour walk around Fresh Pond and discover the variety of ferns that grow along this trail. Participants will learn how to identify various species that are common to Maine by their leaf shapes, sizes, textures, and degree of complexity which varies between species.
